13 Ptolemy went to the city of Antioch, where he crowned himself king—both of Syria and of Egypt.
14 Meanwhile, Alexander had gone to the country of Cilicia because some towns there had rebelled against him.
15 When Alexander heard what Ptolemy had done, he attacked him, but Ptolemy's large army defeated Alexander and forced him to retreat.
16 After Ptolemy won this important victory, Alexander found a hiding place in Arabia,
17 but Zabdiel the Arab chopped off Alexander's head and sent it to Ptolemy.
18 Three days later, Ptolemy himself died, and the people in his fortresses killed the soldiers he had stationed there.
19 In the year 167 of the Syrian Kingdom, Demetrius the Second became king.
