3 Opposite the twenty cubits which were for the inner court, and facing the pavement which was for the outer court, was gallery against gallery in three stories.
4 And before the chambers was a walk of ten cubits width toward the inside, at a distance of one cubit; and their doors faced north.
5 Now the upper chambers were narrower: for the galleries took more space away from these, than from the lower, and the middle chambers of the building.
6 For they were in three stories, but had not pillars like the pillars of the courts: therefore the upper chambers were narrowed, more than the lower and the middle chambers from the ground.
7 And the wall that was outside, opposite the chambers, toward the outer court at the front of the chambers, its length was fifty cubits.
8 For the length of the chambers that were on the outer court was fifty cubits: while those facing the temple were a hundred cubits.
9 And below these chambers was an entrance on the east side, as one goes into them from the outer court.
