3 Then the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders of the people gathered in the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas,
4 and took counsel that they might take Jesus covertly and kill Him.
5 But they said, “Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar among the people.”
6 When Jesus was in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper,
7 a woman came to Him having an alabaster jar of very expensive ointment and poured it on His head as He sat at supper.
8 When His disciples saw it, they were indignant, saying, “For what purpose is this waste?
9 This ointment might have been sold for a large sum and given to the poor.”
