18 and shall consume the glory of his forest,and of his fruitful field, both soul and body;and it shall be as when a sick man faints.
19 The rest of the trees of his forest shall be so fewthat a child may write them down.
20 In that day the remnant of Israeland those who have escaped of the house of Jacobshall never again depend on himwho struck them,but shall depend on the Lord,the Holy One of Israel, in truth.
21 The remnant shall return, even the remnant of Jacob,to the mighty God.
22 For though your people, O Israel, are as the sand of the sea,yet a remnant of them shall return;the destruction is decreed,overflowing with righteousness.
23 For the Lord God of Hosts shall make a complete destruction,as decreed, in the midst of all the land.
24 Therefore, thus says the Lord God of Hosts: O My people who dwell in Zion,do not be afraid of the Assyrian.He shall strike you with a rodand shall lift up his staff against you, after the manner of Egypt.
