For all the sandals of the tramping warriorsand all the garments rolled in bloodshall be burned as fuel for the fire.
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government shall be upon his shoulder. And his name shall be calledWonderful Counselor, Mighty God,Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of his government and peacethere shall be no end, upon the throne of Davidand over his kingdom,to order it and to establish itwith justice and with righteousness, from now until forever. The zeal of the Lord of Hostswill perform this.
The Lord sent a word against Jacob, and it falls upon Israel.
All the people shall know, even Ephraim and the inhabitants of Samaria, who say in the prideand stoutness of heart,
“The bricks are fallen down, but we will build with hewn stones;the sycamores are cut down, but we will replace them with cedars.”
