44 And He said to them, “These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all have to be filled that were written in the Torah of Mosheh and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me.”
45 Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures,
46 and said to them, “Thus it has been written, and so it was necessary for the Messiah to suffer and to rise again from the dead the third day,
47 and that repentance and forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in His Name to all nations, beginning at Yerushalayim.
48 “And you are witnesses of these matters.
49 “And see, I am sending the Promise of My Father upon you, but you are to remain in the city of Yerushalayim until you are clothed with power from on high.”
50 And He led them out as far as Bĕyth Anyah, and lifting up His hands He blessed them.
