2 And a certain captain’s servant, who was valuable to him, was sick and about to die.
3 And hearing about יהושע, he sent elders of the Yehuḏim to Him, asking Him to come and heal his servant.
4 And when they came to יהושע, they begged Him earnestly, saying, “He is worthy for You to grant this to him,
5 for he loves our nation, and has built the congregation for us.”
6 So יהושע went with them. However, He was not far from the house when the captain sent friends to Him, saying to Him, “Master, do not trouble Yourself, for I am not worthy that You should come under my roof.
7 “For this reason I did not even think myself worthy to come to You. But say a word, and my servant shall be healed.
8 “For I too am a man appointed under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to one, ‘Go,’ and he goes, and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes, and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”
