30 But the Pharisees and those learned in the Torah rejected the counsel of Elohim for themselves, not having been immersed by him.
31 And the Master said, “To what then shall I compare the men of this generation, and what are they like?
32 “They are like children sitting in the market-place and calling to each other, saying, ‘We played the flute for you and you did not dance, we lamented for you and you did not weep.’
33 “For Yoḥanan the Immerser came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, ‘He has a demon.’
34 “The Son of Aḏam has come eating and drinking, and you say, ‘Look, a man, a glutton and a winedrinker, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’
35 “And wisdom is declared right by all her children.”
36 And one of the Pharisees asked Him to eat with him. And He went into the Pharisee’s house, and sat down to eat.
