1 And morning having come, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against יהושע, so as to put Him to death.
2 And having bound Him, they led Him away and delivered Him to Pontius Pilate the governor.
3 Then Yehuḏah – he who delivered Him up – having seen that He had been condemned, repented, returned the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and to the elders,
4 saying, “I have sinned in delivering up innocent blood.” And they said, “What is that to us? You see to it!”
5 And throwing down the pieces of silver in the Dwelling Place he left, and went and hanged himself.
6 And the chief priests took the silver pieces and said, “It is not right to put them into the treasury, seeing they are the price of blood.”
7 So they took counsel and bought with them the potter’s field, for the burial of strangers.
