2 They were indignant because Peter and John were teaching the people and announcing in Yeshua the resurrection of the dead.
3 So they grabbed them and put them in jail until the next day, for it was already evening.
4 But many who heard the message believed, and the number of the men came to about five thousand.
5 On the next day, the rulers and elders and Torah scholars were gathered together in Jerusalem.
6 Annas the kohen gadol was there, and Caiaphas and John and Alexander, and all those who were of high-priestly descent.
7 When they had placed Peter and John in their midst, they began to inquire, “By what power or in what name did you do this?”
8 Then Peter, filled with the Ruach ha-Kodesh, said to them, “Rulers and elders of the people!
