And I will grant authority to My two witnesses and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, dressed in sackcloth.”
These are the two olive trees and the two menorot that are standing before the Lord of the earth.
If anyone wishes to harm them, fire comes out of their mouths and consumes their enemies. If anyone wants to harm them, he must be killed in this way.
These two have the power to shut the heavens, so that no rain may fall during the days of their prophesying. And they have power over the waters to turn them into blood, and to strike the earth with every kind of plague as often as they wish.
When they have finished their testimony, the beast that rises from the abyss will make war on them, and overcome them and kill them.
And their corpses will lie in the open street of the great city that figuratively is called Sodom and Egypt—where also their Lord was crucified.
Some from the peoples and tribes and tongues and nations will look at their corpses for three and a half days, not allowing them to be placed into a grave.
