9 Therefore I gave her into the hand of her lovers, into the hand of the Assyrians, whom she lusted after.
10 They stripped her naked, they took her sons and her daughters and slaughtered her with the sword. She became notorious among women. Judgments were executed upon her.
11 “Now her sister Oholibah saw this, yet she was more depraved in her lust than her sister and her promiscuous acts worse.
12 She lusted after the Assyrians, governors and rulers, warriors splendidly clad, horsemen riding on horses, all of them handsome young men.
13 I saw that she defiled herself; they both went the same way.
14 But she kept increasing her harlotry. She saw men carved on the wall, the images of the Chaldeans carved in red,
15 girded with sashes on their loins, with flowing turbans on their heads, all of them had the appearance of officers, the likeness of Babylonians of Chaldea, the land of their birth.
