Whoever keeps the Lawgives many offerings;
whoever obeys the commandmentsmakes a sacrifice of well-being.
Whoever repays a kindnessoffers the finest flour,
and whoever does an act of charitymakes a sacrifice of praise.
Staying away from wickednesspleases the Lord, and keeping away from injusticemeans reconciliation.
Don’t come into the Lord’s presenceempty-handed,
since fulfilling the commandmentsmeans making offerings.
The righteous person’s offeringenriches the altar, and its pleasing odor comesbefore the Most High.
A righteous person’s offeringis acceptable, and its memory will last forever.
Honor the Lord generously, and don’t skimpon the early produce you present.
Every time you give, have a cheerful face, and dedicate your tithe gladly.
Give to the Most High as he has given, and give with generosityfrom what you have,
because the Lord is the one who repays, and he will repay you seven times over.
Don’t offer a bribe,because the Lord won’t accept it.
Don’t present an unrighteous sacrifice, because the Lord is a judge, and he shows no partiality.
God will not be partial to the poor, but he will listen to the complaintof those who are wronged.
God will never ignore an orphan’s plea, nor that of a widowwhen she pours out a complaint.
Don’t a widow’s tears fall downon her cheek,
and isn’t her plea against the onewho caused her tears?
Those who serve with goodwillwill be accepted, and their prayer will reach to the clouds.
The prayer of the humble passesthrough the clouds, and it will never stopuntil it draws near to God.It will never withdrawuntil the Most High takes notice,
gives justice for the righteous, and executes judgment.Indeed, the Lord will never delay, nor will he be patient with themuntil he crushes the powerof the unmerciful,
until he exacts vengeanceon the nations, until he removes the multitudeof abusive peopleand shatters the authorityof the unrighteous,
until he repays individualsaccording to their deedsand the works of human beingsaccording to their thoughts,
until he decides the case of his peopleand makes them glad by his mercy.
His mercy is timely in a periodof distress, like rain clouds in a dry season.
