Everyone of every nation, the entire earth, and all its creatures, come here and listen!
The Lord is terribly angrywith the nations;he has condemned themto be slaughtered.
Their dead bodies will be leftto rot and stink;their blood will flowdown the mountains.
Each star will disappear—the sky will roll uplike a scroll.Everything in the skywill dry up and wiltlike leaves on a vineor fruit on a tree.
After the sword of the Lordhas done what it wantsto the skies above,it will come down on Edom, the nation that the Lordhas doomed for destruction.
The sword of the Lordis covered with bloodfrom lambs and goats, together with fatfrom kidneys of rams. This is because the Lordwill slaughter many peopleand make a sacrifice of themin the city of Bozrahand everywhere elsein Edom.
Edom's leaders are wild oxen. They are powerful bulls, but they will diewith the others.Their country will be soakedwith their blood, and its soil made fertilewith their fat.
The Lord has chosenthe year and the day, when he will take revengeand come to Zion's defence.
Edom's streams will turn into tarand its soil into sulphur—then the whole countrywill go up in flames.
It will burn night and dayand never stop smoking.Edom will be a desert, generation after generation;no one will ever travelthrough that land.
Owls, hawks, and wild animalswill make it their home.God will leave it in ruins, merely a pile of rocks.
Edom will be called“Kingdom of Nothing”.Its rulers will also be nothing.
Its palaces and fortresseswill be covered with thorns;only wolves and ostricheswill make their home there.
Wildcats and hyenaswill hunt together, demons will scream to demons, and creatures of the nightwill live among the ruins.
Owls will nest thereto raise their youngamong its shadows, while families of vulturescircle around.
In The Book of the Lord: The book that Isaiah refers to is unknown.you can search and findwhere it is written,“The Lord brought togetherall his creaturesby the power of his Spirit. Not one is missing.”
The Lord has decidedwhere they each should live;they will be there for ever, generation after generation.
