When you see this, your faces will glow;your hearts will poundand swell with pride.Treasures from across the seaand the wealth of nationswill be brought to you.

Your country will be coveredwith caravans of young camelsfrom Midian and Ephah. The people of Shebawill bring gold and spicesin praise of me, the Lord.

What is that sailing bylike cloudsor like doves flying home?

On those distant islandsyour people are waitingfor me, the Lord.Seagoing ships lead the wayto bring them homewith their silver and gold.I, the holy Lord God of Israel,do this to honor your people,so they will honor me.

Jerusalem Will Be Rebuilt

Jerusalem, your city wallswill be rebuilt by foreigners;their rulers will becomeyour slaves.I punished you in my anger;now I will be kindand treat you with mercy.

Your gates will be openday and nightto let the rulers of nationslead their people to youwith all their treasures.

Any nation or kingdomthat refuses to serve youwill be wiped out.

Wood from Lebanon's best treeswill be brought to you—the pines, the firs, and the cypress trees. It will be used in my templeto make beautiful the placewhere I rest my feet.

The descendants of enemieswho hated and mistreated youwill kneel at your feet. They will say, “You are Zion, the city of the Lord, the holy One of Israel.”

You were hated and deserted, rejected by everyone. But I will make you beautiful,a city to be proud offor all time to come.

You will drain the wealthof kings and foreign nations. You will know that I,the mighty Lord God of Israel, have saved and rescued you.

Your people will live rightand always own the land;they are the trees I plantedto bring praise to me.
