I praise you, Lord God,with all my heart. You are glorious and majestic, dressed in royal robes
and surrounded by light. You spread out the skylike a tent,
and you built your homeover the mighty ocean. The clouds are your chariotwith the wind as its wings.
The winds are your messengers, and flames of fireare your servants.
You built foundationsfor the earth, and itwill never be shaken.
You covered the earthwith the ocean that roseabove the mountains.
Then your voice thundered! And the water flowed
down the mountainsand through the valleysto the place you prepared.
Now you have set boundaries,so that the water will neverflood the earth again.
You provide streams of waterin the hills and valleys,
so that the donkeysand other wild animalscan satisfy their thirst.
Birds build their nests nearbyand sing in the trees.
From your home aboveyou send rain on the hillsand water the earth.
You let the earth producegrass for cattle, plants for our food,
wine to cheer us up,olive oil for our skin, and grain for our health.
Our Lord, your treesalways have water, and so do the cedarsyou planted in Lebanon.
Birds nest in those trees, and storks make their homein the fir trees.
Wild goats find a homein the tall mountains, and small animals can hidebetween the rocks.
You created the moonto tell us the seasons. The sun knows when to set,
and you made the darkness,so the animals in the forestcould come out at night.
Lions roar as they huntfor the food you provide.
But when morning comes, they return to their dens,
then we go out to workuntil the end of day.
Our Lord, by your wisdomyou made so many things;the whole earth is coveredwith your living creatures.
But what about the oceanso big and wide?It is alive with creatures, large and small.
And there are the ships,as well as Leviathan, the monster you createdto splash in the sea.
All of these depend on youto provide them with food,
and you feed each onewith your own hand, until they are full.
But when you turn away, they are terrified;when you end their life, they die and rot.
You created all of themby your Spirit, and you give new lifeto the earth.
Our Lord, we praythat your glorywill last for everand that you will be pleasedwith what you have done.
You look at the earth, and it trembles. You touch the mountains, and smoke goes up.
As long as I live,I will sing and praise you,the Lord God.
I hope my thoughtswill please you, because you are the onewho makes me glad.
Destroy all wicked sinnersfrom the earthonce and for all. With all my heartI praise you, Lord!I praise you!
